Ok, besides the significant other, then the photographer, the next most important selection in my mind is the cake!  We have cakes for our dog’s birthday, even our fish get a birthday cake (so what if they can’t have a piece, it means more for me!) – so needless to say, in my book the wedding cake is a very important selection.  Nice job Keith!

Reminiscent of the “Gilded Age,” we have a traditional round stacked cake, gilded in antique gold fondant, decorated with royal icing swag and gold dragee.

The base of each tier is wrapped with white satin ribbon and is adorned with a black and white pearlescent peony blossom.

Option 2: Modern Beauty

Floral damask flocking over ivory fondant embellishes these square tiers.

Each tier is wrapped at the base with a copper fondant sash and bow and adorned with a pearl studded gold gum paste brooch.

Option 3: Sophisticated Elegance

Victorian decadence describes this octagon shaped cake topped with an ivory globe. Each tier is adorned with fondant swag, gum paste cameos and royal icing filigree.

The base is bordered with lustrous string pearls and rolled fondant roses. The orb is nestled in a bed of pink and peach colored fondant roses and purple violets and decorated with strips of fondant ribbon and royal icing vines. The cake is topped with a pearl dusted fondant bow.

Hi All,

First let me say “Free Arts of Arizona” is a wonderful charitable organization. They bring the arts to underprivileged and marginalized kids to bring up (or back) their self esteem. I encourage everyone reading this to learn more about them by clicking on their link (and of course reading their info). Another great thing is that they are fun to work with and they appreciate their volunteers. They recently threw a party and art exhibit at the Bentley Projects in appreciation. We donated the “Live PhotoBooth” (we are the official photographers) for the party. Following are a few shots from the night. Props were provided by volunteers. Let me add that it is very interesting watching adults pick through props. The amount of thought that sometimes goes into it is intriguing. With that I present with photos. Enjoy.

{Wow…the selections for the Garden Wedding are moving along, vite, vite, vite!  10.10.10 will be here before you know it.  The current poll:  The Details.  Wedding Invitations are so beautiful…and set the tone for such a lovely event.  I remember when Keith and I were planning our destination wedding on St John USVI, we, (who am I kidding – I )  (truthfully, Keith would be hard pressed to even remember there was an invitation, never mind what it looked like) searched for the perfect invitation to reflect our island wedding…we ended up with an invitation that really defined our event (or wedding week as it turned out!)  Invitations are such a great keepsake – for both the bride & groom and their guests!}

PHOTOGRAPHERS & WRITERS

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN… if 26 of the best writers in metro Phoenix was paired with 26 of the best photographers in metro Phoenix?

AND WHAT IF… each team was asked to create their work within certain boundaries (writers: 500 words or less, any genre; Photographers: up to four pictures in one image, any style) and told to capture the past, present or future of one randomly selected downtown Phoenix city block?

SCULPTOR/PAINTER

AND WHAT IF… Rafael Navarrowas asked to capture his perspective of all 26 city blocks on 4×4 wood blocks?

THE RESULTS

AND WHAT IF… the resulting work of 26 photographers, 26 writers and one sculptor were unveiled at After Hours Gallery on May 7th, 2010 and began a tour in Phoenix until January 31, 2011?

That’s what we did.
