I’m not sure, but I think this couple is in love. Like really in love!

Is there a better way to spend an afternoon than being in the company of two people that are just so happy? Photographing them having fun was such a pleasure –  it was really easy to capture the genuine joy in their lives together.

Wedding photographers have the good fortune of spending time with happy, happy people: capturing the genuine moments, the unscripted interactions that make a couple so uniquely content with one another. We are so honored to be able to document a chapter in the story of their lives together. An engagement session is a glimpse into the essence of a couple. A great warm up to the wedding day.

We are so happy for K + C that they have found joy – together.  Looking forward to their wedding in April. It will be here in the blink of an eye.

While it may certainly be true that a true love story doesn’t have an ending, a true love story most certainly has a beginning.

Even though this couple has been together for a while and have a busy life together in California, there is always something about a wedding that defines new beginnings.

A magical afternoon and evening, a couple head over heels, an oh so gorgeous Arizona day that makes you wonder why the whole world doesn’t live here, the perfect venue, in fact a moveable feast of sorts all brought together by Lauren of Victoria Canada Weddings and Events.

The commencement of the rest of their lives together – day one! Beautiful.

Serendipity Videography is the most sought after wedding videographer in the Valley. Over the years, we have had the great pleasure of working professionally with Serendipity at weddings. Photographer and videographer, two necessary elements of almost every wedding.

In passing, Jeff happened to mention that a video might be a nice touch for our website. We could not agree more. In fact, a video (a well made video) was long overdue! When Jeff and Taryn agreed to help us we knew that we would end up with something really special – and special is an understatement. This video really captures who Keith is, what he does, and most importantly – why he is a photographer. {Oh, and our kids are ADORABLE!}

This lovely couple, visiting from Pennsylvania were married at The Phoenician Resort the day after Christmas. There was a mini blizzard back east over the Christmas holiday so a destination wedding in Arizona could not have been a more perfect idea! Such foresight!

This couple was not only beautiful but had an exceptional sense of humor. There were so many moments throughout the afternoon with so much emotion, so much genuine laughter, so much joy!

In my opinion, photographing a fun couple’s wedding at a gorgeous resort on a simply perfect Sunday – further confirms why Keith has the greatest job in the world.

Hi All,

I am giving Melissa a break and writing a blog post myself for a change. Let’s get the rust off of these typing fingers… I recently had the privilege of photographing the beautiful wedding of this gorgeous couple and their really fun and sweet families and friends. It was the day before Halloween and inspired by the holiday they broke out the masks and attitudes. You can never go wrong with masks. The weather was perfect, which is a usual perk here in Scottsdale this time of year and the Venue, Sassi (in north Scottsdale), was gorgeous with Pinnacle Peak in the background and the sun hanging low in the sky.

One thing (of soooo many) that I love about the couples that choose to use Keith Pitts Photography for their weddings (aside from the obvious good taste in photography) is that they are always so easy going. This was no exception. The beautiful bride, which in this case is not just an expression but also a fact, had the most incredible support system. Her sisters were all emotional, happy and helpful. The wedding was even planned by one of her sisters who is an event coordinator for John C. Lincoln Hospital. She puts on a mean Black Tie Charity Ball I must say. The flowers were from one of my favorite florists (who happen to be worth the drive to the West Valley), Petal Pushers. Tamara and Matt (of Petal Pusher fame) also were the florists involved in the Desert Botanical Garden Wedding Giveaway that I have talked so much about the last half year. I have to throw in a plug too for the staff at Sassi who were very helpful and attentive and for Bernice who orchestrated the affair without so much as a hiccup. Lastly and certainly with much greater importance than the final spot may indicate, I have to tip a hat to the DJ, Matt of MT Sounds. If that name seems familiar from reading this blog then you are remembering him from the post with Riki and Will and the classic ‘vette.

Hi All,

Here is a couple after my own heart. She works in the renewable energy sector and has a past that includes activism. He works for a company that deals with the nourishment of children in need. They are both really good looking, intelligent and easy to talk to. You would think I made them up just to tell people that I actually know them. They are all too real though and I do know them. I owe that last part to a happy client of mine ( I love happy clients ).

Please look past my crush on these two at some photos from their affair and enjoy.

Here is a vignette of the wonderful wedding of a very fun couple with an appearance by an awesome vintage Corvette. Something for everyone. The couple in question are HUGE football (NFL) fans and therefore we got along like gangbusters. I LOVE football (the Miami Dolphins in particular). They took this love and spread it around by having the servers at the reception wear the hats of their favorite teams. The Arizona Cardinals for her and the Baltimore Ravens for him. He’s from the Baltimore area so he can be forgiven (I am from the 70′s and the Dolphins rocked is my excuse).

Riki (the bride) was driven to the ceremony in the vintage Corvette by her dad. It was a spectacular entrance to all and especially the guys. You can’t ever go wrong with having a beautiful blonde delivered in a vintage sports car. I am sure that’s written somewhere. The guests were treated to not only a lovely day with a rather stiff breeze (always appreciated here in Arizona) and a touching ceremony with an animated bride, but the couple also gifted all in attendance with a special bottles of wine.

If  you are looking at this and saying “Man, even though Keith is a great photographer this looks too good to be true” then you must recognize that special  extra something that is evident in all of Victoria Canada productions. Further more, if you are wondering who wouldn’t be intimidated to try to makeup  a woman as beautiful as Riki then I can put your mind at ease. It was Linda Wagner . Who else could it have been? With that I will leave you to admire the handiwork of all involved in helping to enhance the special day created by the loveing couple. Bonne Chance Riki and Will.

Hello All,

This is the story of one of the cutest couples I have met in a long time (I reserve the right to not mention who the other cute couples are). They are from England and wanted to have their wedding here in Arizona as they have some history with this place. What could go wrong? They spend a great deal of time here anyway.

Their wedding was scheduled at the fabulous Phoenician in Scottsdale. The weather here was beautiful leading up to their date and they were ready to greet a long stream of guests that would not only attend their affair but spend a week on holiday. What could be more perfect? They forgot one thing… to plan for the possibility of a volcanic eruption in Iceland grounding most air traffic in the region (both in and outbound). A fairly easy oversight. The downside to this would be of course that the parents and dress were still in England. A dress, no matter how beautiful, is easier to replace than your mom  helping you dress and your dad walking you down the aisle (especially if you like them).

What to do? Wait of course. See what Hephaistos or Vulcan (depending on your Greek or Roman preference) has in store. As the day came close it looked sadly like they were going to postpone the wedding indefinitely. What happened was a lot better. Stephanie Mahrer, the Senior Catering Manager at the Phoenician was able to change the date for the wedding (difficult in such a large venue) and the vendors were also able to accommodate this sweet couple. The air traffic over Europe resumed and the couple got married with the majority of their scheduled guests intact. This is a great illustration of a point I bring up to all of my bridal clients. Be relaxed and flexible. You can’t control everything, no matter how hard you try. I have witnessed many things over the span of my career (this was the first Volcanic disruption) and the lesson is this: As long as you marry the person you love then the wedding was successful. Anything else is correctable even if it is not fun. It reminds me of something my dad said (and I have always agreed with) “Don’t sweat the small stuff and in the end it’s all small stuff”. With that, let me thank Jodie and Chris for your choice of Keith Pitts Photography and acknowledge the other wonderful vendors from the day.

In case you thought something bad had befallen me (I live and work in Arizona), I am fine. I have been pre occupied with a lot of making my business a better business type stuff. One thing that can do that is regular blogging and I figure to get good at that again now that the other stuff is under way (good things, maybe I’ll share them). So for our next installment I present to you a slide show. This is from a recent wedding that featured a really cool local couple with a lot of really cool local friends. I was introduced to them by a mutual friend who also happens to be a great graphic designer, Becky. Becky is one of the design geniuses (along with Terry Duffy) that make up Glyphics Design. They are responsible for my logo and various other parts of my professional identity that I love so much. THANK YOU BECKY AND TERRY!!!

The wedding ceremony was at the Central United Methodist Church in Phoenix. This was the first wedding there after an extensive remodeling. I had never been there before so I can’t tell you how much better it was but I can say that it looks great. The reception was a short walk away (I love that) at the world famous Heard Museum. I love shooting weddings in museums by the way. One of the very cool things done at this wedding was the photo booth. Not the “Live Photobooth” by Keith Pitts Photography mind you, but a real, enclosed booth built by the groom. It had two open sides and the conga line passed through it so that everyone could take a quick shot with the bride and groom (including me). How great is that?
